RE: MAYOR MZWANDILE MASINA IS A POLITICAL OPPORTUNIST
The mayor of Ekurhuleni, and the chairperson of African National Congress in his region, has built his political career masquerading as an unapologetic Cadre who believed in Radical Economic Transformation (RET) as being key economic policy to totally emancipate our people from the shackles and legacy of Apartheid. This is the same Cadre who claimed to believe that Cde Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma must be elected president of the ANC in the 54th National Conference, otherwise he would resign and not serve under the presidency of Cde. Cyril Ramaphosa.
This is the position and mandate which was carried by the majority branches of the ANC. But for Mzwandile Masina to ensure enough popularity so he could rise above everyone and ultimately (be) believed to be the one who ushered us to our destiny. He therefore pulled a publicity stunt.
As RET Champions we want to remind Mzwandile Masina that as we stood at OR Tambo in our thousands to welcome President Jacob Zuma, and expressed our unfailing support for him ( President Zuma) because when we say that we believe that he has been targeted for his courageous pro-black leadership, we meant it. We will defend President Jacob Zuma against the White Monopoly Capital (WMC) media offensive, political bankrupt opposition and counter-revolutionary surrogates, such as the SaveSA campaign,BUT we will not stop there. We will also defend the father of free tertiary education even against self-serving political careerists who summersault before elective conferences of the ANC, in unprincipled attempts of positioning themselves.
The comment Mzwandile Masina made about President Jacob Zuma and his son’s YouTube video, Zooming with Zuma’s, must be viewed as one of his attempts to remain relevant and possibly to be chosen again as mayoral candidate of Ekurhuleni for the ANC. We say: Not that way Mzwandile! We should never backstab our comrades for our own comfort and promotion.
We remember Mzwandile as the same leader who came on the eve of President Jacob Zuma’s welcome back from Cuba, and opportunistically imposed himself on a program that he had done nothing to support. Knowing that “President Jacob Zuma is like a magnet”, as once articulated by Cde Julius Malema, Mzwandile wasted no time to push himself forward in order to stand next to the man, whom today he has the audacity to tweet as if behaving “all in bad taste and insensitive”. The question we must ask is, who is Mzwandile actually trying to impress? {Rupert of cause}
We have protected Mzwandile Masina against those who accused him of jumping the gun, and not allowing himself to be lead by the Covid-19 national command, when he declared in his budget speech he was going to seek help from Cuba.
It is really ironical that this is the very same person who now accuses a father and son for reflecting on very painful experiences they have been through, and how some of the people they have trusted have turned against them. This is part of our history and it will not change. Sadly it is not only part of our history, but is also a constant danger facing our revolution. Each and every day our trusted forces and leaders must choose to remain on the correct ideological side of the poor masses as motive forces of our revolution, or to sell their souls to the devil.
As RET forces we call on Cde Mzwandile to reflect carefully and to apologize for encroaching on matters beyond his comprehension. He will do well to desist from the vain and opportunistic tendencies of grandstanding that he is increasingly making himself guilty of.
