As black people we want VBS looters in jail for stealing monies that belonged to old people yet we are comfortable to bank with the banks that commit the most heinous crimes and even supported and funded apartheid to buy arms which killed black people.
The 5 biggest banks in South Africa are the anatomy of criminality yet we choose to turn a blind eye because they are White controlled.
This is where the problem started; Instead of changing the banking sector and forming a black owned commercial bank, the ANC decided to give ANC Leaders shares in some of this banks through what was called the Banking charter which turned some ANC leaders into multimillionaires and Billionaires. This process as with the mining charter and other charters was initiated under President Thabo Mbeki as part of what he called the Patriotic Bourgeoisie
ABSA is an apartheid Bank which included banks like Volkskas Bank which funded apartheid to segregate, exploit, oppress and kill black people. Tokyo Sexwale was the key beneficieries of this apartheid Bank which made him a Billionaire and AN entrepreneur. Barclays Bank bought ABSA Post 1994 and the likes of Maria Ramos who had a long history with Barclays was seconded there.. Barclays was also heavily involved in the Arms Deal
FNB was previously the English owned Barclays Bank that changed its name in the 80's because of international pressure as the bank supported the apartheid government. Maria Ramos used to work for Barclays Bank from 1981 during its height as an apartheid collaborator. FNB is mostly owned by Rand Merchant Bank a Remgro subsidiary owned by the Rupert family. Zanele Mbeki was the major beneficiary of the banking charter through FNB or what is called First Rand Trust, with Kagiso Trust of Frank Chikane and NUM Trade Union. You must then understand why Thabo Mbeki defends Ruperts soo much and how heavily embedded trade unions are as well
Standard Bank was initially an English owned bank which also aided and abided apartheid. They gave their shares to President Cyril Ramaphosa and Saki Macozoma to name a few
Nedbank is a bank of Nederland a country of Jan Van Riebeck and the Dutch East Indian company: The original Coloniser, they gave their shares to the likes of Reuel Khoza and Joel Netshitenzes served on their board.
Capitec bank which was formed to target black low income workers post 1994 is a brain child of Christo Wiese and an offspring of the infamous Boland Bank. Christo Wiese also owns Shoprite and is also the mastermind behind PSG investments. This is the Stellenbosch group with the likes of Jannie Mouton that has captured the black market and low income earners. This is the group that was behind the infamous Steinhoff corruption. Their beneficieries are Jay Naidoo and Ketso Gordhan, Pravins Gordhan nephew. As usual no one is yet to be arrested and blacks trust this bank
Then you have other key financial institutions such as Sanlam whose shares were given to the likes of Trevor Manual and Patrice Motsepe. Grindrod Bank owned by Ruperts is also a key player in the financial service sector which banks on behalf of SASSA and making billions from those social relief funds.
Is it not a crime against the fearless spirits of our forefathers that only 1% of the entire financial service sector is controlled by indigenous Africans?
All this banks that we soo trust with our money have been involved in various acts of economic terrorism from collusion to manipulation of the currency, to illicit capital flights, tax evasion to exclusion of black people in accessing substantive loans. All this banks control your trillions that go in and out of government and ensured that no black people control the financial service sector. This are the real Tenderpreneurs.
Because ANC Leaders have shares in this banks, the banks are heavily protected by the Reserve Bank and apparently they are to big to fail. They can steal, collude, kill, hamper the economy, lead to job losses nothing will happen to their executives and as far as they are in existence no other black people are capable of controlling the flow of money.
Black people are comfortable with White crimes and have never trusted their black brothers with money and the VBS saga has proven them correct.
VBS was 100% black owned, gave black people in the rural areas access to home loans. Gave black business and government institutions the most affordable interest rates. Unfortunately the executive got to greedy, fell right into the hands of the system they were fighting and now have managed to loose an incredible institutions which this government was not going to save.
Even President Ramaphosa knows VBS was never owned by Andile Ramavunga or Tshifhiwa Matodzi but was one of the oldest black owned banks started by the people of Venda in the 80s yet the bank had to sink. VBS was formed with the sweat of Venda people when both Andile and Tshifhiwa were babies but it had disturbed the establishment for far to long.
Why not save the bank and arrest the criminals or allow the criminals to apologies the way Maria Ramos and other White criminals apologies?
Unfortunately the mistake we continue to make is assume that being black is enough to make our leaders conscious when the consciousness they know is that of money. No leader is prepared to start afresh, White Capital has paid them enough and all of this through blood money.
Excellent 🙏🙏
